Cambodian Anti-Corruption Drive Creates Headache for Western Firms

Earlier this month the Cambodian government announced that as part of its anti-corruption drive, it had outlawed the payment of fees to civil servants.  But the move has opened a new set of problems that worry Western businesses that operate in the country. ‘Red Wedding’ Shows Lasting Scars of Forced Marriage

A new documentary film premiered in Phnom Penh on Thursday reveal forced marriages ordered by the Khmer Rouge ahead of the Khmer Rouge tribunal’s initial hearing of its four senior leaders late this month. Red Wedding, which last 58 minutes, follows the current life of a woman who is bitterly describing her sufferings during the Khmer Rouge period when she was forced to marry one of their soldiers. 1997 Investigation Hampered by Authorities: FBI

When the FBI conducted an investigation into the 1997 grenade attack on an opposition rally, the agency found improper conduct by Cambodian authorities, according to a report obtained by VOA Khmer.
